Shader sharing

Smooth games from the first launch. · 4 min read

The first time a game runs on a PC, the graphics card prepares shader files, which causes stutter in the first few minutes. In gaming halls, this repeats every time the PC is restored to its original state. Shader sharing solves it.

The idea

Shader files are saved once on the local server in a shared folder (CCU_Shaders). Each PC links its shader folders to that folder, so whatever is prepared on one PC benefits all of them, and it stays after a restart.

Setup

  1. Make sure the local server is running.
  2. Open Builder → Shaders.
  3. Add games from the ready library, or add a game with its shader path. Graphics card files (NVIDIA, AMD, and DirectX) are added automatically.
  4. Click Build Share. The server creates the shared folder.
  5. PCs link themselves automatically on their next startup.

What about the Builder?

The Builder saves a game's settings (folders and registry values) in a profile. On PCs whose disk is restored to its original state, the PC reapplies the profile at every startup, so the game runs correctly without setting it up again.

  1. Scan Game: enter the path to the launch file, and the server detects the folders and registry entries.
  2. Save the result as a profile, then click Build.
